ABOUT

The Beginning...

I have started my yoga journey rather late in my early 40's when my life has changed dramatically in a positive way. Before this positive change I have lost my father to Alzheimers, my business to economic turmoil, and my boyfriend to cancer one after another. During this period of time I was pulled more and more in to spiritual ways to find comfort and answers. But it was after this challenging time when I was introduced  to Yoga. As Yoga teachers would say, nothing in material world is permanent. Happiness and sorrow is also temporary. To be honest I went to my first yoga class with the intention of physical fitness. Immediately I have sensed that there was much more in to yoga then just physical outcomes. Within 3 months I was hooked to the discipline, grace and empowerment of the practice. I was happy with how my life turned out but, was still looking for a deeper sense of direction and fulfilment in my life. About Six months into my Yoga journey after I have found Esther Ekhart that I have decided to become a teacher.

Influences:

I had the opportunity to study with Scarlett Dee Mehigan, who was a student of Godfrey Devereux founder of Dynamic Yoga, during my first level of teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa style.  After practicing yoga Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vinyasa traditions for 2 years, I have also had the chance to study and still studying Iyengar yoga with Bruno Teyssandier and Maria Soemardi who comes from Anusara Yoga tradition.

Practicing and studying with different teachers from different traditions has shown me that no matter what tradition of Yoga one studies the ultimate goal as Patanjali says, is to quite down the fluctuations of the mind.

Style:

My teaching style is not only to establish awareness with precise and detailed alignment in asana practice but also integrating the philosophy with asana and daily life in a safe environment. My purpose is to keep the students safe and create deeper mindfulness with basic asana sequences, pranayama and meditation practices.
